C is for CHAMPIONS

Written by Brandon Green.

At an early age, my father passed down his love of baseball to me. What he could not pass down were the deep wounds the game would bring into my life. In August of 2014, my all-African American Little League team from Chicago competed and won at every level of competition. My team won every game in sectional, district, state, and regional competitions qualifying us to advance to the Little league World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Competing in the Little League World Series is the dream of every young baseball player. Our coaches always told us to approach every day as an opportunity to learn and that this baseball experience would not be any different. However, even with a good foundation both on and off the field, nothing could ever prepare a young player to have all their earned wins taken away including their World Series Championship Title. America's favorite pastime revealed that baseball really is the game of failure, good thing there is always a new day to play a new game. Through this book I hope to share this message. You are a champion, and you have what it takes to win, no matter what curveball, life throws at you.

Mommy, Daddy Please Teach Me!

Written by Michael A. Brown.

Teachers. Remember your favorite? Taught you what you didn't know. A void. They, with great enthusiasm educators know, taught to fill the void with knowledge. Repeated practice equals subject security and the confidence to tackle more. This is where Mommy, Daddy Please Teach Me! comes in for those likely divested of great life lessons. Teach Me! guides adults, parents, grandparents, and caretakers to take an active approach in teaching children what parents may or should do daily. Teach Me! creates curiosity in children desirous to learn. What should we teach? What is left to learn? Everything. Teach them and perhaps yourself to secure their present showing them they belong with love by action. For themselves. For you. For your family. For their future, teach.

Written by Grace Farah.

One day, Ginger the giraffe and Zee the zebra stumble upon an amazing discovery that promises many wonderful adventures. The two friends are excited, but soon find themselves easily distracted and ignore the warnings from the wise old owl who hoots the important message, "Today, today, today!" This enjoyable story teaches children the importance of seizing the moment and not to put off tomorrow what can be done today, today, today!

My Mother Is My Friend

Written by Kimberly P. Johnson, this was my first 'hard cover' book project. I really enjoyed working on this book as it allowed me to draw all sorts of different animals depicting mother and child.
